We are interested in the social behaviour of non human primates with the aim to understand the human social evolution. By comparing different species of macaques, we investigate in the behavioural differences across species (ranging from tolerant to intolerant species), but also in the behavioural adaptations in response to human disturbance. Furthermore, many studies of our group focus on whether and how primates (including human) recognize their biological relatives emphasizing that social cognition is crucial in species with highly complex sociality.
