Simone Battaglia | How the prefrontal cortex shapes human emotional fear learning

Simone Battaglia holds a degree in Neuropsychology and a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Bologna, Italy. Currently, he is Assistant Professor in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Centre for Studies and Research in Cognitive Neuroscience, Department of Psychology, University of Bologna. His research focuses on the functional interplay between brain areas involved in emotional learning, action control, spatial representation, brain plasticity, decision-making, using non-invasive brain stimulation techniques and physiological measures. He was ranked among the World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University & Elsevier for two consecutive years (2023, 2024). Finally, he received the SPR Early Career Award from the Society for Psychophysiological Research (SPR), and the Young Investigator Award from the European Society for Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience (ESCAN). Nationally, he was awarded the Young Researcher Award by the Italian Association of Psychogeriatrics (AIP) and the Best PhD Thesis Award by the Italian Society of Neuropsychology (SINP).
